Checkout the common culture found in a typical Nigerian Universities

If you are a graduate or an undergraduate studying in the Nigerian tertiary institutions especially the University and you are yet to experience a few of these common culture or you have never experienced them, then I am sorry to say that you attended a glorified secondary school.
What I mean by the culture is the way of life or the behaviours of the students, which makes the University setting fantastic and fun, but in most cases some student misses it, especially the most serious ones (First Class student). I recalled my lecturer telling us he had to carry over (C.O) all the University side attractions to graduate with a first class degree honour, so if you are one, you definitely don't have the experience of this.

 1. Night reading
It is so funny that almost 50 percent of undergraduates on campuses makes night reading a habit, but the truth is, they only go out to hang out with their girlfriends/boyfriends in the name of reading. It is only when the Exam or the C.A is on that you will discover they are really struggling to read.If you are not a victim of this, then my brother you are a 5 pointer.

2. Argument on the basis that your course is the best
Have you ever seen a History student telling a Medicine student that his course is more relevant to the nation, if No then you should check the Nigerian University campuses and you will find one. They is always an incessant debate on which department is tougher and relevant in the University. The funniest thing is even someone studying P.H.E will tell you his department is tougher than Mathematics or Economics.

3. Visiting Student
Just like the University have visiting professors, you will discover you have two or more visiting Students in your level. The general rule of thumb before you will be qualified as student of a course is you must have 75 percent attendance, but tell me if those ones belonging to this category ever made 40 percent sef!!!

4. Tutorials everywhere especially during exams
Those ones that think they are intelligent student goes about hosting tutorials up and down just to impress their GF, especially during exams but the thing is most at times the tutor under perform while the student excel. No be by force to be a tutor please.

5. Rag day
This is the day that students demonstrate the degree of their madness by dressing in torn clothes, different pair of shoes, and many more dresses that are unfashionable and barbaric, thencthey go about drumming, dancing and some go to the extent of begging for alms. I personally love this day, and to tell you the truth, I have already prepared the wears for this session rag day. OMG you need you feel how masadness makes people are free.

6. Sign out/ Pen day
This is a day when all the graduating student put on a white shirt while their course mates, friends and even foes sign with a marker on their wears, this sign are mostly written names. It is an official way of saying bye to the University environment as it is done after the final exams. Still yet, the funniest thing is some of them will have to come back t clear their spill overs.
These list is not the only ones but I just decide to put this few in writing and maybe next time I am gonna write on more like clubbing, games, campus life gist, flirting etc. Don't carry over this memorable moment, enjoy it as much as you can.
